UK Games Industry worth more than half of the entertainment market

Estimated at a staggering £3.7bn, the UK games industry has more than doubled its 2007 value and is now worth more than music and video combined! It was boosted massively in 2018 thanks to AAA titles: Fifa 19, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Red Dead Redemption 2 – as they each sold over a million copies.

Pokemon The First Movie to get CGI remake?

Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is coming this year and the teaser trailer has had fans furiously speculating as ‘the legend is back’. The teaser transports us back to 1998 and shows queues for the eagerly awaited debut Pokemon movie – hope you kept your exclusive trading card guys! – finishing with a flash of CGI Mewtwo. How this will pan out, we have no idea, but we’re interested to see what happens next and what the remake has to offer!

Keys acquired illegitimately are now illegal to be sold in Japan

Reselling software product keys is now illegal in Japan, as part of a revision to the Unfair Competition Prevention Act. This includes tools which alter save data, including the Cyber Save Editor for PS4 – a move which affects the games industry and modders in particular in a big way.
