Fashion Revolution X Alfred: Launching Fashion Revolution Week

29th April 2020

We were recently appointed by Fashion Revolution, the world’s largest fashion activism movement, formed after the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh in 2013, to lead the media launch of its annual Fashion Revolution Week, which took place 20th – 26th April 2020.

Fashion Revolution Week aims to shine a light on the steps needed to bring about revolutionary change within the fashion industry. This has become more relevant than ever with the Covid-19 crisis affecting the supply chain and many vulnerable workers. Our brief was focused on highlighting the cause to media, and launching the brand’s fifth Fashion Revolution’s Transparency Index – which ranks the top 250 fashion brands on key areas such as policy and commitments, supplier remediation and governance.

In addition, the team supported Fashion Revolution’s push to get the public involved through a series of activities; from Fashion Open Studio workshops and talks to their Fashion Question Time panel. The public was also encouraged to join in, holding brands and retailers to account by asking an important question #whomademyclothes.

Reflecting on the week, the team is buzzing after delivering impact for a partner that has and continues to create a movement around an important cause. Results included standout features in the likes of The Guardian, Grazia, Vogue, Independent, Forbes and ES to name a few.

While there are many issues to address in fashion, you cannot deliver change without brands becoming more transparent about their activities. We’re proud to have been part of this year’s Fashion Revolution Week, seeing the results and inline conversation that were fueled by this activity delivered another great step forward for the movement.
