French Cinema & DJ Nights

29th July 2015

Here at Alfred we’ve had the pleasure to work on a nice mix of projects, and one of our most recent bought the worlds of independent cinema and dance music together, with the release of French film Eden.  Directed by Mia Hansen-Løve the film has been released in the UK and Ireland by our client, Metrodome.

The film tells the rise-and-fall story of Paul (played by Félix de Givry), a young DJ from Paris who as part of the duo Cheers, pioneered the French Touch scene from which Daft Punk emerged in the early 1990s. The film is partly based on the real-life story of Sven Hansen-Løve, Mia’s brother, who also co-wrote the film.

EDEN

It’s been highly regarded as the most faithful yet to the clubbing movement, and we secured some great coverage as part of our campaign, including interviews with Sven and Félix on The Independent, Empire, Thump, Cineworld, UKF, as well as a featured gear guide on DJ gear and music retailer Juno Records. To add to this we also secured praising reviews, film features and competitions that positioned it as one of the hottest indie releases of the summer. It certainly got us excited too!

Eden DJ

In the lead-up to release we had the pleasure to meet Sven at the UK junket, he also DJ’d at a special screening put together with Mixmag at the Egg nightclub in King’s Cross, a great excuse for the team to head for a night out and hit the dance floor! It was an amazing set and a great chance to mingle while listening to some quality music.

Another blast of a campaign and a very happy team and client as a result!
