Alfred Previews Payday 2: Crimewave Edition!
Here at Alfred we love a good game launch, and last week we hosted the first hands-on for the upcoming Payday 2: Crimewave Edition for UK press, bloggers and YouTubers.Coming this June 12th to PS4 and Xbox One from 505 Games, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition sees one of the most community-committed and critically acclaimed titles in the market making its first next-gen appearance.Featuring a ton of new content only previously available as part the PC version’s updates with improved performance and features. The game really does make the most of the technical capabilities of Sony and Microsoft’s machines.The launch took place at the über-cool and rather fitting gamers pub Loading Bar in Dalston, we even had producer Almir Listo, from Payday 2’s developers Overkill, flying in from Sweden to introduce the new title and speak to guests at the event.
In between indulging in drinks and a rather serious canapé binge (who’s going to resist fish & chips cones and chorizo sausage rolls?), we witnessed some intense moments as guests from the likes of Stuff, Eurogamer, Gaming Bolt, The Sixth Axis and YouTubers including Matt The Musketeer and Fearcrads took part in the game’s notorious co-op multiplayer mode, which teams up four players to take on different roles as part of a gang of bank robbers. A mix of RPG and first-person-shooter got everyone’s adrenaline pumping and looking forward to next month’s official release. Bank heists have never been this much fun!
