The Oscars Update
The Oscars has announced it will be shortening the ceremony to 3 hours this year, as well as introducing a new category ‘Most Popular Film’. This is in a bid to refresh the ceremony, following the disappointing ratings of only 26.5 million last year. Many commentators are claiming that this new award category should only be viewed as a ‘consolation’ prize to best film, whilst others suggest the Oscars was turning into a ‘popularity contest’. Films that have been tipped for success include The Black Panther – which we think is very deserving of an award.
Game Of Thrones to Harry Potter
GOT star, Natalie Dormer, known for her role as Margaery Tyrell, is now taking on her next franchise by voicing the new audiobook exploring magic from the world of Harry Potter. Harry Potter: A History Of Magic explores hidden stories from throughout Magic’s history. This could a great listen on the commute!
The Great British Bake Off is back
The Great British Bake Off does always delight, and the latest trailer is no exception, with a selection of tasty cakes and treats all singing ‘You’re Beautiful’ by Christina Aguilera. Although it’s not been the same without Mary Berry, we’ll still be tuning in each year.
The Meg Screening
To celebrate the release of The Meg Warner Bros. carried out a killer screening in rubber dinghies in a pool attended by the Love Island crew. This was followed up with an experience on the Thames where guests dove through the river in a shark-like speed boat, not for the faint-hearted.
