Facebook announces ‘tribute’ profiles

Facebook has announced that it’s launching ‘tribute’ profiles for memorialised accounts. Users are now able to assign a ‘legacy contact’ who can manage their account after they die.

Facebook also shared how it will be moving towards full integration between Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Users will now be able to message across the three apps more freely. Facebook are positioning the move as one towards better privacy and encryption.

LinkedIn launched an East London pub pop-up where visitors got career advice, worked on their CVs and had headshots taken.

IGTV takes over Instagram feeds

IGTV previews launched in Instagram feeds this week, allowing users to preview IGTV content before clicking through to the full IGTV content. The move highlights how much of a priority IGTV has become for the image sharing platform.
