Counting your calories?

Eating out is preferable to fast-food when it comes to watching the waist-line, right? Well, apparently not according to new research, which suggests the average restaurant might be worse for you than fast-food – coming in at 1,033 calories compared to 751 calories in a fast-food meal. Public Health England is urging the food-industry to cut calories in an effort to cut obesity rates.

The Commuting Bug

It’s something Londoners will already know, but has now been confirmed by a scientific study – commuting to work on the tube will make you ill. Researchers from the University of Bristol found higher levels of illness in Londoners who spend longer on the tube.

Stressing Out

We’ve all had regrets, but new research highlights the things adults most frequently regret doing when they were younger. Health factors, such as smoking, drinking and not doing enough exercise all featured in the top 40, alongside things such as taking life too seriously, or saying no too often.

The Morning After

Online chemist – Chemist4U, has halved the cost of their morning-after pill in the run up to Christmas. At £4.99, it’s less than a third of the price of Boots’. Reception to the move has been mixed, however many are praising the firm for not hiking up the price a beneficial health product.
