Cyberpunk is the most watched stream on Twitch for an upcoming game this year
At Gamescom, the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 had fans crying out to see gameplay. CD Projekt Red initially had trepidations about letting the work in progress demo go public but, following Gamescom, CD Projekt streamed the meaty 50 minute demo on Twitch and it did not disappoint! Githyp, a videogame stats website, revealed that the Cyberpunk stream was the “most watched stream on Twitch for an upcoming game” this year, close to hitting half a million concurrent viewers! This has topped Fortnite’s peak of 305k viewers and has also been watched 4.7 million times on YouTube – stay keen Cyberpunk fans!
Physical game releases to get in-game purchases warning
All games that include transactions which require real money will be branded with a new descriptor logo to help consumers that purchase physical releases. Mainly to aid parents who may not be videogame savvy, PEGI will be slapping this logo alongside the other symbols (which could include, violence, drug references, and so on) that represent what you can expect to appear in each individual game.
Gamescom sets another record for attendance
It was another record year for attendance at Gamescom as the largest gaming event in Europe celebrated its 10th anniversary. Around 370,000 people, including 31,200 trade visitors, flocked from 114 countries to the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, making it the biggest year yet for Gamescom. What a week!
