Shoppers tighten purses ahead of Brexit
Retail sale volumes have fallen 0.5% in October as gloom engulfs high streets amid the upcoming divorce with Europe. Big retailers such as Debenhams and House of Fraser announced further store closures this week, due to growing sales concerns.
Domino’s launches cheeseburger pizza
The much-loved pizza brand this week announced its latest addition its extensive range: the Cheeseburger Pizza. Combining the nation’s two favourite foods, the new item on the menu set social ablaze this week as soon as it was announced. We at Alfred cannot wait to sink our teeth into it.
Did Black Friday flop? According to advisory firm BDO, Black Friday failed the provide much-needed relief from the challenges plaguing UK high streets – as footfall plunged 6.5% compared to 2017’s Black Friday week. This represents the biggest drop in three years, so do us Brits really care about those supposedly amazing deals we’re basketing one Friday a year? Apparently not!…
Has the UK ran out of oat drink?!
Our client Oatly has hit the newsstands this week – its much-beloved Oat drink is facing huge demand from oat-thirsty Brits, who’ve been clamouring to get their hands on its delicious products. The Swedish oat drink maker has seen sales rise 100% in the past year – but never fear, Oatly is increasing production to make sure there’s enough delicious, creamy Oat drink to go round!
