The art of #winning
15th April 2016
With awards season looming in the PR diary, our co-founder Dan Neale, following his turn as a PR Week judge last year, was asked to sit on a panel at the PR Week Awards breakfast briefing to discuss what it takes to create an award winning entry.
It’s always great to gain insight and hear approaches from other industry peers, so a few of the team also took a seat in the audience, and have rounded up our top five takeouts for an award winning entry below:
- Be concise, less is more
- Tell your campaign story, have a beginning, middle and an end to engage the judges. State your objective clearly and most importantly know the difference between strategy and tactics
- Content is key, utilise video to showcase your work and use design to bring the entry to life, all making your entry more memorable
- Follow the rules – don’t go over the word count and meet the deadline
- Showcase your results clearly, have the objectives been achieved, what was the business impact to your client, is this truthful?
Thanks PR Week. We were delighted to be finalists at the PR Week Awards 2015 and looking forward to getting cracking on our 2016 entries.
