Alfred’s Hot Spots

10th March 2017

As we head into the weekend and the weather is turning dare we say it…slightly warm…it’s time for another Alfred Hot Spots round-up. In this outing we tell you just where we have been media networking and exploring over the past month to pass on our pearls of wisdom, recommending the best that London has to offer!

Alfred Networking
Just on our doorstop (and also most of London’s freelance journalists homes) is The Rivington Grill, a relaxed gastro pub that has a New York vibe. The food is delicious and has a huge range – so you can still stick to the New Year diet and order the sea bass or have one of the best burgers in London. You can also order from the extensive wine list if you feel like it!

Alfred Inspiration
We recently visited one of our favourite gallery’s The Royal Academy, to see the new exhibition America After The Fall with such artists exhibited as Jackson Pollock, Georgia O’Keeffe and Edward Hopper. All the works shown were painted in America’s Great Depression in the 1930’s and show a country in flux. The range of work was staggering and you came out feeling inspired.

After a busy and exciting few weeks, with projects such as the launch of the sell out VFX Festival, we decided to toast our success at Dirty Bones in Shoreditch. We may have slightly over ordered on the sides – but you have to try every kind of fry right? Great food and atmosphere we give this a 10/10.

Alfred Adventures
To celebrate her birthday Alfred’s very own Gabby, recently took a trip to The Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery, just outside of London in Reading. The guided tour showcased how the gin is made and offered the chance for guests to test all the different ingredients used, you even get your very own bespoke cocktail made at the end!

Alfred Eats
This mouth-watering and delicious creation has become our new Friday treat, aptly named the ‘Bubble Waffle.’ These waffles are made in a special honeycomb mould and are a popular treat in Hong Kong. The result is crispy edges and soft, chewy ‘bubbles’. Our fave is the Bananarama – Nutella & Banana – need we say more?
