When it came to planning for Photokina 2016 with CEWE Photoworld we knew we needed an Instagram worthy event to showcase all the latest products to a photo fanatic audience. A two-day event for international influencers was the answer, packed with creative workshops, expert-led tours and snap-able surroundings, created in partnership with super cool Berlin-based magazine, SisterMAG.

The warehouse setting in Cologne was perfect for a day of workshops, networking and snapping away for the 24 bloggers, Instagrammers, photographers and crafting influencers from across Europe. First up was the DIY and Crafting workshop, which was hosted by international crafting superstar Brittany Watson Jepsen, known for her blog and Pinterest page The House That Lars Built. Influencers got stuck into creating bespoke photo memory boxes which were then packed with their own CEWE Retro Print pictures.

The Photography Principles and Lighting workshop, hosted by stylist Anastasia Benko, gave attendees the chance to get creative with a huge arrange of vintage props and fresh flowers to set-up beautiful photographs which were then printed via the CEWE Instant Print booth. Influencers then headed out on a photography tour of Cologne city, taking in the sites of the gothic cathedral, love lock bridge and uber German architecture. All before a beautiful candle-lit feast and well deserved cocktail or two.

Photokina itself is a sight for sore eyes for any photography fanatic, or even casual snapper, with thousands of square foot jam-packed with the latest photography technology and innovation. CEWE’s presence at the show was huge, with a large hall dedicated to showcasing the latest product and packed with creative inspiration. The influencers’ Photokina experience included a guided tour from fashion photographer, Christopher Santos, who imparted his knowledge to their eager ears.
